This indicates that the EarthLink webmail interface allows you to access your inbox from any computer anywhere in the world! According to a recent announcement from EarthLink, all EarthLink email service users can now access the IMAP email service.
Users of EarthLink Mail can directly link their Account with Outlook, Outlook Express, Mozilla Thunderbird, or other email clients. The Earthlink webmail settings are required to access Earthlink email accounts in the email client.

- Launch Outlook.
- Select Add Account under File from the menu.
- Select "Manual Setup or Other Server Types" and click Next.
- Choose POP or IMAP and press Next.
- Enter your name and EarthLink email address in User Information.
- Under Server Information, choose IMAP as the Account Type.

smtpauth.earthlink.netin the Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP) field. - Enter your password and email address in the Logon Information field.
- Select "More settings".
- Under the Outgoing Server tab, check "My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication" and "Use the same settings as my incoming mail server".
- Select the Advanced tab. Ensure Incoming Server (IMAP) is port 143.
- For Outgoing Server (SMTP), choose SSL/TLS (or Auto) encryption if available, but standard Earthlink settings often use port 587 with explicit TLS or sometimes no encryption depending on their specific legacy support. (Standard guide suggests 587).
- Click OK, then Next to test settings.
- Once completed, click Close and then Finish.
Set up POP in Outlook Express
For users on older systems using Outlook Express:
- Activate Outlook Express.
- Select Accounts from the Tools menu.
- Select Mail from the Add menu.
- Enter your name and click Next.
- Enter your Earthlink email address and click Next.
- Set "My incoming mail server" to POP3.

smtpauth.earthlink.netfor Outgoing server. Click Next. - Type your password and email address. Check "Remember password" and click Next.
- Press Finish.
- Select the new Account and click Properties.
- Select the Servers tab, then check "My server requires Authentication".
- Enter email/password in Settings if needed, or use "Log on using...". Click OK.
- Under Advanced/Servers tab, ensure Outgoing Mail (SMTP) is 587. click Apply and OK.
