How to Easily Import Contacts into Outlook

Importing contacts into Outlook can be done for various reasons, including importing outdated contacts, moving from another mail server, or saving all of your contacts in one location. Whatever the reason, MS Outlook offers a straightforward method for bulk contact import.

Import Contacts from PST into Outlook

  1. Open MS Outlook and select File from the menu.
  2. Select the Import/Export option by clicking the Open & Export button.
  3. Following that, select Import from another program or File.
  4. Choose Outlook Data File (.pst) from the list after that.
  5. Selecting it with the Browse button, choose the PST file you wish to import.
  6. Select Create duplicates, then press the Next button.
  7. Select Include subfolders next to the Folder where you want to import data.
  8. Select “Finish” from the menu.

  1. Choose File from the menu after opening Outlook.
  2. The Open & Export menu’s Import/Export option can be chosen.
  3. Select Import from another program or File from the Import and Export screen, then press the Next button.
  4. Select Comma Separated Values, then press the Next key.

  6. Select the Create duplicates option, then select the Next button.
  7. Click the Next button after choosing the Contacts folder.

How to Import contacts to Outlook.com

  1. Register with Outlook.com
  2. The user’s icon is in the lower-left corner.
  3. Click Manage, then choose Import Contacts.
  4. Select a CSV file by clicking the Browse button, then click the Open button.
  5. Select “Import” from the menu. 

How to Import Contacts from Gmail to Outlook.

You must export your Gmail contacts before importing them into Outlook. You can then import the exported files into Outlook.

Step 1: Import contacts from Gmail into Outlook

  1. Log in to your Gmail account by going there.
  2. Visit the website at https://contacts.google.com.
  3. Select the Contact group by clicking on the Export button.
  4. Click the Export button after selecting the Outlook CSV option.

Step 2: Export contacts from Gmail to Outlook

  1. When Outlook is open, select the File tab.
  2. Select the Import/Export option by clicking the Open & Export button.
  3. Select Import from another program or File from the Import and Export wizard, then click the Next button.
  4. Select Comma Separated Values from the Import a File window, then select Next.
  5. If you saved your Gmail contacts in a CSV file, click the browse button and choose it.
  6. Select Create duplicates, then press the Next button.
  7. Click the Next button after choosing the Contacts folder.
  8. Select “Finish” from the menu.

A translation error message can be resolved by opening the exported CSV file in Excel. The contacts can then be saved in a newfile.csv file by selecting the Save as option. Once finished, import the contacts into Outlook using the newly created .csv File.
