Send and Receive MS Outlook Errors with its causes & solutions

Microsoft Outlook is a very useful email client used by many organizations. It provides multiple features on a single platform. MS Outlook being so popular and helpful but sometimes it gives errors due to Exchange Server. And here I am also going to discuss one of the common issue (Send and Receive MS Outlook errors) we usually faced.

Note: While using the Outlook you come across multiple Outlook sending and receiving error codes. Few of them are:

0x8004210b: The operation timed out waiting for a response from the sending (SMTP) server.

0x8004210a: The operation timed out waiting for a response from the receiving (POP) server

0x800ccc80: None of the authentication methods supported by this client supported by your server.

0x800ccc0f: The connection to the server are interrupted.

0x80042109: Outlook is unable to connect to your outgoing (SMTP) e-mail server.

Causes of the Outlook errors

There are a few reasons why this error occurs. If not resolved then these issues won’t allow you to send or receive any emails in Outlook.

Problem with the connectivity of Exchange server: The issue with the Exchange server can create problems to the Outlook. So, it is required to have good connectivity with the server.

Poor Internet connection: You should have good Internet connectivity in order to avoid Outlook errors.

Limited space in Outlook: Because of the presence of the limited space in Outlook you get fail in receiving e-mails.

Damaged MS Outlook files: The errors can also occur in Outlook because of the presence of the damaged files.

Oversized Outlook files: Outlook has the file size limit for sending files so, you won’t be able to send the large files through Outlook.

Problem with the MS Outlook profiles: Issue with the Outlook profile and its setting can create Outlook errors.

Solutions to resolve the errors:

Keep good connectivity with the server: You need to check the server setting whenever downtime happens and improve its connectivity.

Good Internet connection: Having a good connection with the Internet resolves Outlook errors.

Make space in Outlook: Deleting files which are not useful or you can also move files to the secondary or In-Place Archive Mailbox.

Repair MS Outlook files: If you have any corrupted or damaged files then you need to retrieve those files. You can try repairing it with ScanPST.exe tool or with the help of the software or the third-party.

Minimize the file size: You can minimize the oversized file size by splitting them.

Recreate the Outlook profile: Check the Outlook setting, its email ID and password, sending and receiving port numbers, etc. If the error does not resolve then create a new Outlook profile.

1- Go to Control panel >> Mail >> Show Profiles.

2- Click on Add button, type the new profile name >> Ok.

3- A new dialog box will appear. Mark check on the option “Manually configure server setting or additional server types”. Click Next.

4- Choose Internet E-mail. Hit on Next.

5- Type the account details and click on “Test account setting” >> Next.

6- Select “Existing Outlook data file” >> Browse.

7- In “open outlook data file”, locate the files located previously. Click on OK >> Next.

8- Lastly, Click on Close and Finish.
